Digital practices has never been more crucial for businesses who want to create awareness, share information or sell products. It has changed the playing field, businesses would traditionally go to a Marketing or Advertising Agency, the new world of Digital Marketing has created a plethora of “specialist” in each Digital Channel (eg: Google AdWords, Facebook Advertising, SEO, CRO, Social Media Management) but what this new breed is forgetting is that with any great campaign comes a consistent brand approach. The moral of the story is good Marketing, Branding and Advertising come from a well thought out strategy.
At BRANDiT we are committed to raising the bar for Digital Marketing through a fully integrated brand and advertising strategy that leads to high lead and conversion rates. Here are some current trends that are getting businesses noticed:
1. Highly engaging video content – statistics show that over 50% of internet browsers spend most of their time online watching videos. While YouTube browsers watch over 1 billion hours of videos every day, Facebooks users watch over 8 billion videos every day. Videos have become a must with marketing on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat. Source: https://techcrunch.com
2. Social media influencer – I blame the Kardashians for this trend, but as much as it pains me to say, as a marketing channel its now a great option. We are all sick of being sold to by companies, so companies have enlisted the famous, popular or dam-right special to promote their products. The world of media consumption has now changed forever, so you may as well get on board. If you want to know what’s trending now you go and look up your favourite person or celebrity.
3. Mobile campaigns – over 60% of google searches are made from mobile. We need to make sure we place a greater emphasis on mobile marketing platforms and apps. Mobile-focussed marketing is the go-to now as even Google is starting to phase out websites that are not mobile friendly. There is a process called CRO (Conversion Rate Optimisation) where we can track how people engage with your site over a period and then tweak and enhance your website till its highly converting. If you’re paying for Google AdWords or Facebook Ads you need to make sure your converting on all leads. Make your website work hard for your business.
4. Chatbots – these are a little bit exciting to me…they are software applications that encourage engagement with the users and whose main purpose is to direct users towards the lead funnel and boost conversions. They also add a personal touch and make the user feel more confident about the product as they are able to get instant feedback. Who loves them…Millenials….They were originally used in Messenger to allow customer services team a speedy communication platform, but they have come a long way and they can be used to create games, view videos from and make purchases. They don’t work for all industries but the ones they work for see incredibly high conversion rates. Source: https://www.wordstream.com/blog/ws/chatbots
5. Small Business CRM Hybrid Systems – well that sounds fancy doesn’t it. In simplest terms there are now so many CRM (Customer Relationship Management) companies out there they started looking at the process and how to help SMALL BUSINESS work more efficiently without the cost the big corporates pay. I’m proud to announce we are finally in an era where you no longer need a separate Email Marketing, SMS Marketing or CRM that we juggle clients and content between. Now you can close down your MailChimp account and manage everything off of a system like AGILE CRM. I have tried over 8 systems (a lot of the big boys) and AGILE CRM is a great and cost-effective platform where you can manage your customers data, deals / opportunities, business automations (tasks, birthday email / reminders etc) and all your email marketing campaigns. It’s pretty cool! Give me a call if you would like more information.
An added bonus, not really a trend, but something you really should know….
What is GDRP and how does it affect you? A lot of people are confused about the new data management rule being imposed by an EU decision. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was officially implemented in May of 2018. Its main purpose is to protect private information of online users. Basically, it puts pressure on organisations in the EU to get permission from users to gain access to their personal information. A simple example would be to have a pop-up window for signup to access regular newsletters or promotions, some may require just the email address while others may request for full name and even location. This policy also applies to anyone outside the EU (ie Australia) that may be dealing with EU national (ie: Helga on Holidays) For example: If you have a Pizza Shop and you collect tourists details with the order you need to make sure you get their permission to add them to any database you will send them emails from. It’s essential that all business owners take the GDPR policy seriously, a double opt in process is a simple fix.
