There are a few Small Business Government Grants available to Small Business in the Marketing and Digital Marketing space, here are our favourite two:
The Australian Small Business Advisory Service, known as ASBAS Digital Solutions (full details below) below provides small businesses with access to Marketing Consultants from as little as $FREE for a webinar, $24 for a workshop or $44 for a 60-minute consultation. This program allows business to mix and match services based on their needs. Owners can have anyone within the business attend, so it’s a great way to up-skill the right person in your team, or talk business strategy for themselves.
The Small Business Digital Grants Program provides matched funds UPTO $10,000 for a range of services to assist with your growth. Our favourite being your ability to use a Marketing Consultant in a Coaching capability. Imagine the things you could achieve with 50% off Marketing Services. Great for Marketing Plans, Brand Development, Digital Marketing Set-up (ie websites) and Training and much much more.
Nationally, but especially the Gold Coast & Brisbane businesses have a chance to thrive in the new Digital Age thanks to a new Australian Government Initiative aimed at exposing Small Businesses to new digital advancements in Marketing and Technology.
The Australian Small Business Advisory Services (ASBAS) Digital Solutions program launched on the Gold Coast in October 2018. The program has been government funded for THREE years and is open to any business owner with an ABN with 1-19 employees. Business’s can choose their delivery style from 1on1 Consultation, Workshops and Webinars. ASBAS also allows us to work with Industry Associations to provide member services so that we may up skill as many small businesses as possible during the grant period. Note: Businesses can send anyone from their business to the sessions, its a great way to upskill admin staff who take on much of the Digital Marketing roles.

ASBAS Digital Solutions provides small businesses with access to low cost advisory services delivered by high quality Marketing & Business Consultants who can help them understand the new digital age, and how to succeed by using new Digital Marketing platforms, tools and software’s to improve their business operations. On the Gold Coast, Marketing Consultant Michelle Fragar (CPM) from BRANDiT has been awarded the role of delivering the initiative to as many small businesses as possible “We have a great opportunity to help the GC grow and become a great stable economy, I hope every small business takes advantage of the initiative” commented Michelle.
The program is delivered through Regional Development Australia (RDA); Program Manager QLD, Sha Wharton noted “The program brings high quality Marketing & Business Consultants, like Michelle, within reach of small business owners for as little as $20 for a 90 minute one-on-one session and $15 for a workshop or webinar. It’s a great initiative and the Gold Coast is so lucky to have Michelle – she is a Certified Practising Marketer (CPM) and sits on the QLD committee for the Australian Marketing Institute. We really focused on finding the best people to deliver this initiative and think we have achieved a great outcome for the Gold Coast”.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistic (ABS)1 and Australian Treasury2 the survival rate for non-employing businesses is only 58.9%. When you take into account that 97% of businesses in Australia are SMALL (62% of them non-employing) this grant has the ability to have a real impact of the growth and success of small businesses in Australian and the Gold Coast.

The beauty of this initiative is it allows business owners to use the program in line with their business needs. And anyone in their business can attend the workshops.
